About Southern African Council of Non-Governmental Organisations
SAf-CNGO is the Southern African Council of Non-Governmental Organisations, a regional umbrella body formed in 1998 to promote engagement between civil society in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region and SADC institutions. SAf-CNGO offers a range of services and programs aimed at enhancing civil society participation in SADC activities. They work closely with SADC institutions such as the Summit of Heads of State or Government, the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, the Council of Ministers, and the SADC Secretariat to promote peace, security, and development in the region.
Additionally, SAf-CNGO oversees the SADC Administrative Tribunal, which resolves labor disputes within the SADC Secretariat. With a focus on governance, institutional structure, and strategic alliances, SAf-CNGO plays a vital role in driving positive change and community development in the Southern African region
