SAFA Cumbria

SAFA (Self Harm Awareness For All) is a registered charity serving people who self-harm and those who support them. Its mission is to make a positive difference through confidential, non-judgemental support for the full spectrum of self-harming behaviours. Based in Cumbria, SAFA provides counselling to hundreds of people each year, with support relating to self-harm and eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.

Individuals can refer themselves, while professionals and family members can use dedicated referral routes. The charity also offers peer support, crisis contacts and a self-care toolbox featuring mental health and wellbeing resources, shared stories and information. SAFA encourages people to share lived experiences to help others feel able to reach out.
