SAFE-6G is a pioneering European research project that aims to enhance trust in 6G networks through a smart and adaptive framework. Leveraging AI/ML techniques, SAFE-6G focuses on user-centric safety, security, privacy, resilience, and reliability functions, optimizing the Level of Trust (LoT) as a pivotal Key Value Indicator (KVI) for 6G. The project introduces a user-centric 6G network system redesign, allowing users to manage their own networks and personalize services.

By moving beyond the current function-centric core network, SAFE-6G aims to offer a complete instance of the 6G system for each user, enhancing personal data management, policy control, and mobility management. The project also focuses on security and trustworthiness, combining Federated Identity and Self-Sovereign Identity management schemes for enhanced identity protection. With a strong emphasis on privacy preservation, SAFE-6G aims to provide a robust and secure 6G core architecture over the edge-cloud continuum, setting a new standard for 6G networks
