OPSGroup is an independent organization that has created SafeAirspace, the Conflict Zone & Risk Database. This database serves as a single, reliable, and free resource for all airspace risk warnings. Its purpose is to provide airlines and aircraft operators with easy access to up-to-date information on the current risk picture in unfamiliar airspace.

The idea behind SafeAirspace was born out of the tragedy of MH17, which highlighted the need for accessible information on airspace risks. In response to this event, ICAO launched the Conflict Zone Information Repository (CZIR); however, it was short-lived and withdrew risk information that contradicted certain interests. OPSGroup recognized the importance of this resource and launched the Conflict Zone & Risk Database in September 2016.

With 5000 members, including airlines, corporate flight departments, and government entities, OPSGroup ensures independence and oversight. The objective of SafeAirspace is to provide a single source for all risk warnings, free from political or commercial motivations. It allows pilots, flight dispatchers, and flight safety departments to quickly and easily assess the current risk level.
