Safe Harbor Animal Shelter is a nonprofit, no-kill animal sanctuary serving Southeast Missouri. Located in Fruitland, the organization provides a safe place for unwanted, abused, and neglected animals while working to find them loving, permanent homes. Its care focuses primarily on dogs and cats, with occasional other animals also welcomed.

The shelter’s mission is supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and a community of animal lovers. Through its adoption process, Safe Harbor considers each animal’s needs and personality to help match pets with suitable families. Prospective adopters can submit an application to express interest in a pet.

The shelter also operates a thrift store at 3860 Jackson Boulevard in Jackson, Missouri, accepting gently used clothing, toys, kitchenware, and home décor. All thrift store profits support the animals in its care. Donations are welcomed through checks, credit cards, stocks, and other securities.

The facility is not open to the public; inquiries and communication are handled through Facebook Messenger
