Safe Haven Equine Rescue is a dedicated and caring brand that aims to rescue and provide a better life for abused, neglected, and distressed horses. Established in 1999 by Ruth Meadows and currently located in Gilmer, Texas, Safe Haven Equine Rescue has rescued over 700 horses since its inception. Their mission is to bring these rescued horses back to optimal health and find them loving homes.

For horses that cannot be adopted due to age or disability, Safe Haven Equine Rescue provides a peaceful and loving retirement home. Safe Haven Equine Rescue is proud to be a member of prestigious organizations such as the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, which ensures that high standards are consistently met in the care of rescued animals. Additionally, they belong to the Homes For Horses Coalition, the United Horse Coalition, Texas Unites, and the Equine Welfare Data Collective.

Through these affiliations, Safe Haven Equine Rescue collaborates with other industry professionals to promote responsible horse ownership, provide education and options for at-risk and transitioning horses, and raise awareness about horse welfare issues. At Safe Haven Equine Rescue, every effort is made to ensure that horses are treated with dignity and respect throughout their journey towards a better life
