Safe Haven – A Ray of Hope is a children’s organisation dedicated to advocating for and supporting underprivileged children and children living with disabilities. Its work promotes children’s rights, inclusion, dignity and wellbeing, while helping families facing disadvantage. Through advocacy, education, community engagement and practical assistance, the organisation aims to create a more supportive future and improve opportunities for children to learn, grow and thrive.

Safe Haven’s programmes include creative arts and learning activities, free instrument learning, Newcastle Young Voices choir, and the Be the Best Version of You programme. Its Community Hub offers a welcoming learning base for children to take part in activities that develop confidence, creativity, resilience and personal growth. The organisation also works to bridge educational gaps for children with long-term illnesses, including those learning while in hospital or receiving care at home.

For children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their families, Safe Haven provides one-to-one support and SEND Meet and Greet sessions, alongside advice, guidance and appropriate referrals.
