SafeShel

SafeShel is an award-winning Irish company developing emergency shelters that protect privacy, dignity and welfare during medical incidents. Designed by experienced coastguard Peter Larkin and informed by frontline needs, its rapidly deployable shelter gives responders a secure, weather-resistant space to assist people in public or challenging environments. It is used by organisations including coastguard and search-and-rescue teams, schools, universities, sports clubs, airports, wind farms and construction sites across Ireland, the UK, Poland and Norway.

The lightweight SafeShel shelter weighs 5.5 kg and inflates in under 15 seconds using a manual pump, battery-operated inflation or 60 g CO2 canisters. Six access points allow medical personnel to provide care while maintaining privacy, and a foil base helps preserve body temperature. The shelter is designed for use in varied weather and packs into a purpose-made rucksack for transport. SafeShel also provides product information and support to prospective buyers, organisations and distributors, helping them assess the shelter for emergency preparedness and safeguarding needs.
