SafeToAct is an Estonian medical device start-up that is dedicated to developing high fidelity kidney replicas. Founded in Tallinn in 2014 by Ph. D Maarja Kruusimäe, M.
D. Ph. D Peeter Ross, and Ph.
D Asko Ristolainen, the company aims to improve patient healthcare by providing physicians with a safe and controlled environment for training. SafeToAct's flagship product is a 3D kidney replica, affectionately called the kidney phantom, which has been designed with both affordability and high fidelity in mind. Located in Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol, often referred to as Estonia's Silicon Valley, SafeToAct collaborates closely with local talent in biorobotics, engineering, and information technology to continuously enhance their offerings.
Additionally, SafeToAct works with East-Tallinn Central Hospital to provide training sessions for interventional medicine residents, enabling them to refine their skills and contribute to the advancement of healthcare in this field. SafeToAct's vision is to work hand in hand with physicians to enhance the quality of medical education and ultimately improve patient outcomes
