The Safety Shred Days are the ultimate season kickoff event for freeriders and aspiring freeriders of all ages and skill levels! Founded by French pro snowboarder Victor Daviet, the Safety Shred Days are a grassroots initiative dedicated to helping riders master avalanche rescue techniques and risk management in a relaxed, fun, and affordable setting. Through hands-on training, theoretical lessons, and fun sessions, we bring together a vibrant community of riders eager to learn and shred safely! Since 2018, we’ve grown from a 70-participant gathering to France's largest mountain rescue event, welcoming over 600 riders last season across iconic Alpine and Pyrenean resorts. Our mission is simple: to make mountain safety and accident prevention accessible to everyone, to ride hard and stay safe in the backcountry. Let’s keep building this amazing community—together!

Safety Shred Days is a mountain-safety and freeride event brand that has brought people together for training and riding since 2016. Its events help participants prepare for winter, understand mountain hazards and develop practical responses to avalanche risks and emergencies. Training is designed to be accessible to different experience levels, with opportunities to learn about snow conditions, mountain safety and rescue techniques.
The program combines education, community and guided time in the mountains. Participants can meet riders, mountain guides and other enthusiasts, share experience and put their knowledge into practice through supervised freeride, ski touring and splitboarding outings. Event formats include Safety Days, riding sessions and activities for children, alongside talks and après-ski gatherings.
Upcoming editions are planned for the Grand Tourmalet in the French Pyrenees in December 2026, Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise in the French Alps in January 2027, and Whistler, Canada, in April 2027. Safety Shred Days works with partners to make mountain-safety knowledge more accessible, while fostering a welcoming culture of learning, exchange and responsible riding.
