Safire is a local non-governmental organization, established in 1994, that is dedicated to assisting rural communities in economic development through the sustainable utilization of their natural resources. Operating in 15 districts across Zimbabwe, Safire works on six different projects, including forest management, human-wildlife conflict management, disaster risk management, biodiversity assessments, and sustainable agriculture. Through promoting Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM), Safire empowers communities to cope with and adapt to the adverse effects of climate change, while achieving food and income security.

The organization aims to develop the self-sufficiency of rural communities by improving the management and sustainable utilization of indigenous natural resources. Safire seeks to promote the development of income-generating enterprises based on sustainable natural resource use, alleviate environmental degradation in impacted areas, and support the management capabilities of local-level institutions. As a regional leader and service provider in sustainable natural resource management, Safire is committed to improving rural livelihoods and advocating for policies that achieve these goals
