Sportanglerclub Güstrow e.V.

The Sportanglerclub Güstrow (SAG) is an open, independent angling club founded in 2018 to bring together anglers in and around Güstrow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Affiliated with the state’s Landesanglerverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the club gives members access to association benefits, including annual permits for LAV waters. Membership is not limited by regional or state borders.

SAG organizes shared fishing events throughout the year, including pike, coarse-fishing and sea-angling outings. These gatherings offer members a chance to exchange knowledge and help beginners explore different fishing disciplines. The club’s home water is Güstrow’s Inselsee, where it works with local angling clubs and the state association to support fish stocks, including carp, pike and eel.

A key focus is youth development and outdoor education. With support from partner clubs and the LAV MV, SAG runs summer holiday fishing camps at the Inselsee and Gremmeliner See. Experienced members introduce young anglers to fishing, aquatic habitats, environmental respect and responsible fish handling. The club also shares news, events and contact information through its website and social channels.
