SA Golf Institute

Southern African Golf Institute is a golf education and coaching provider based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, preparing students for careers in the golf industry. Its central offering is a three-year National Diploma in Club Professional Golfing (NQF Level 5, SAQA ID 73209), accredited by the PGA of South Africa. The program combines specialised coaching, supervised practice, on-site lectures and playing lessons, with access to video analysis and practice facilities at Stellenbosch Golf Club. Students can maintain amateur status while studying, allowing them to compete at provincial and national levels before choosing whether to turn professional.

The diploma covers golf coaching, sport science, rules, equipment technology, golf retail, business finance and law, event management, and career development. The institute’s internationally recognised founders and coaches bring experience teaching professional golfers and training coaches. Graduates who meet the diploma and PGA requirements may apply for PGA of South Africa membership, which is recognised in more than 40 countries; additional ability tests and apprentice hours are required for full membership.
