The Sagra dell'Anguilla in Comacchio is a vibrant celebration of local culture and gastronomy, held annually over three weekends in late September and early October. This festive event is dedicated to the renowned eel, featuring an array of gastronomic stands, showcooking sessions, and masterclasses led by skilled chefs and sommeliers. Visitors can indulge in exquisite dishes featuring eels and fish sourced from the area's rivers and seas. The festival transforms the historic center of Comacchio into a lively hub of activities, including guided excursions, concerts, art exhibitions, and children's entertainment.
In 2024, the Sagra will showcase the Sette Città artistic display, photographic exhibitions highlighting local stories, and engaging presentations from writers discussing the rich heritage of Comacchio. Participants can also enjoy scenic train rides through the picturesque valleys. The Sagra dell'Anguilla not only offers a feast for the palate but also for the senses, making it an essential event for lovers of food and culture in the charming setting of Comacchio, the heart of the Po Delta Park.
