Sahalahden Taksipalvelu Oy is a locally operated taxi company serving Sahalahti and Kangasala, with decades of experience transporting rural residents, summer cottage visitors and other people travelling in the area. The company focuses on dependable, safe and punctual journeys, taking passengers from door to door for trips nearby or farther afield. Customers can book taxis and pre-arranged rides by phone, and advance booking is recommended to help secure a ride.
The company also provides information and arrangements for healthcare-related travel. For Kela-reimbursed medical journeys, customers may request a familiar preferred taxi; early-morning trips are especially worth arranging in advance. Kela taxi rides to healthcare services can be ordered around the clock through the dedicated booking number listed by the company.
In 2019, Jorma Urkko sold the business to Soili Luoto and continued working with the company. The change was intended to help maintain taxi services for the local community. Sahalahden Taksipalvelu presents itself as a familiar, customer-focused local option for everyday travel and pre-booked transport.
