About South African Hake Longline Association
The South African Hake Longline Association (SAHLLA) is the leading authority on hake longline fishing in South Africa. We welcome membership from companies with an allocated right to fish for hake using the longline method, as well as vessel owning entities active in the hake longline sector. With a solid foundation and an unrivaled membership, we are dedicated to promoting sustainable fishing practices.
As the recognized hake longline body in South Africa, we prioritize sustainable fishing methods to ensure the long-term viability of the hake population. Our commitment to sustainability is exemplified by our endorsement as a SASSI Green Best Choice organization.
