SAIA, the South African Institute of Architects, is a voluntary association that has been serving the architectural industry since 1927. Reconstituted in 2015, SAIA is the natural successor to the Institute of South African Architects. The Institute incorporates nine regional institutes, including Border-Kei, CIfA, Eastern Cape, Free State, GIfA, KZNIA, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and PIA.

SAIA's mission is to act as the collective voice of its members, advocating for excellence and responsible design in architecture. The Institute upholds the dignity of the architectural profession and strives to contribute meaningfully to the enhancement of society and the environment. SAIA is a member of several international organizations, including the African Union of Architects, the Commonwealth Association of Architects, the International Union of Architects, and more.
