About Guernsey Sailing Trust LBG
The Guernsey Sailing Trust, established in 1988, is dedicated to providing local children from all backgrounds with the opportunity to experience and enjoy the thrills and challenges of sailing. They strive to make the sport accessible to everyone, with a particular focus on inclusivity. With state-of-the-art facilities and resources, the Trust offers comprehensive training in sailing, powerboating, seamanship, and navigation.
They also run a successful Sailability program catering to individuals of all ages with additional needs. Whether it's sailing on the pond, keelboat sailing on their Hawk20 boats, maneuvering their specially-designed keelboat called Invictus for those with mobility issues, or powerboating in their RIBs, the Guernsey Sailing Trust offers a range of options to suit different preferences and abilities. As a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre, they maintain the highest safety and teaching standards.
During school term time, they focus on teaching sailing to junior and secondary schools, and during holidays, they offer highly popular RYA courses for anyone aged five and above. The Guernsey Sailing Trust is proud to have been awarded the prestigious SportsMark status by the Guernsey Sports Commission, recognizing their commitment to safety, governance, coaching qualifications, and overall excellence. By becoming a Friend of the Sailing Trust, supporters can enjoy a 15% discount on courses.
With a dedicated team led by the Principal and Sports Development Officer Clare Chapple, and General Manager Sarah Creasey, the Guernsey Sailing Trust continues to provide outstanding training and memorable experiences on the water
