Sailnet is an open-source privacy network that pays relay operators in XNO, the Nano cryptocurrency. It routes traffic through multi-hop, onion-routed circuits carried over connections designed to resemble ordinary HTTPS. The network’s payment system uses XNO transactions to identify circuits, while relays register on the Nano ledger, making their registrations publicly verifiable. Sailnet says no accounts, separate token, or intermediary company are required.
Users can connect through a whole-device VPN or use a SOCKS5 proxy with a one-click toggle and WebRTC leak guard. The app is available for Apple Silicon and Intel computers, as well as Android. Relay operators can run the software on a VPS or home PC, set a wallet they control to receive earnings, and earn payments based on traffic carried. A home-mode option supports operation behind NAT without port forwarding.
Sailnet also describes encrypted, multi-hop routing, traffic shaping intended to resemble HTTPS, and invite-based bridges for unlisted entry relays. Its open-source code is available on GitHub.
