About The Tall Ships Races
Sail On Board is a brand committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability in sail training and events. As advocates for a greener future, they work alongside young people, vessels, and ports to ensure their practices are as environmentally friendly as possible. By harnessing the power of wind, Tall Ships and the events they participate in produce zero emissions while sailing.
Many ships also utilize solar panels and wind generators for onboard electricity generation. Sail On Board supports vessels with advice on green technologies and encourages participation in sustainability education. They endorse host ports that prioritize sustainability initiatives and present Environmental Awards to vessels demonstrating best environmental practices.
They are also actively involved in the Blue Flag Scheme, which promotes clean seas and encourages responsible behavior from participating sail training vessels. To-date, 53 vessels have already signed up for the Blue Flag Scheme, with more encouraged to join. Through their efforts, Sail On Board is working towards a more sustainable future for sail training and events
