About Saint Meinrad
Saint Meinrad Archabbey is a Benedictine monastery in southern Indiana, founded in 1854 by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland. Its monks live, work, and pray in community, following a tradition of worship, study, and service. The Archabbey welcomes visitors to join prayer and Mass in its church, explore its historic grounds, or take time for spiritual renewal through guided retreats. Mass and Vespers are also streamed online daily, helping people connect with the community from afar.
Saint Meinrad supports those discerning a religious vocation and offers ways to participate through prayer requests, Mass intentions, newsletters, a podcast, and other online resources. Its wider work includes the Seminary and School of Theology, the Archabbey Library, educational programs, lectures, workshops, and community events. The Archabbey also offers products and services through Abbey Caskets, CareNotes, its Tailor Shop, Peanut Brother, and a books and gifts store. Donations help further its mission of forming people to look beyond themselves and respond to the needs of the world.
