SA Kitesurf (SAK) is a Cape Town kiteboarding school that has provided instruction in South Africa’s Western Cape since 2013. Its IKO-certified instructors focus on teaching safely and helping students progress at a pace suited to their skills and confidence. Lessons are available for beginners and aspiring independent riders, with private and small-group options, and typically cover kite control, board riding, safety, and self-rescue.
Students receive the equipment needed for lessons, including kites, harnesses, helmets, and boards, as well as two-way radio communication with instructors. Courses range from single lessons to three- and five-day packages, with combo options that include new eco-friendly Airush gear. A free one-hour introductory lesson is also offered.
On completing a course, students receive an IKO Member Card documenting their skills and certification level. SAK teaches at locations around the Cape, including Muizenberg, Langebaan, Bloubergstrand, Tableview, and Big Bay. For riders seeking more than lessons, the brand offers kitesurf tours and safaris that combine kite spots with wine, hiking, and local culture
