Salenti

APS Salenti is an association dedicated to bringing together sport, environmental protection and social innovation to support the wellbeing and sustainable development of Salento, Italy. Its vision is a region where nature is protected, sport is accessible to everyone and communities can thrive. The association promotes environmental sustainability, social inclusion, healthy lifestyles, collaboration and respect for Mediterranean traditions and culture.

Its commitments include restoring at least three hectares of Mediterranean scrubland by 2026, maintaining three kilometres of coastline through clean-up efforts, and offering environmental education for schools and local residents. APS Salenti also aims to provide inclusive outdoor sports activities throughout the year and create a Sport-Working Hub combining work, nature and wellbeing. In collaboration with universities, it supports marine research and citizen science projects. The association also promotes local traditions and the wider cultures of Mediterranean peoples. APS Salenti invites residents, public institutions, businesses and other organisations to participate in its projects, volunteer and help build sustainable opportunities for the region.
