About Salesians
The Salesians of Don Bosco are a family of men and women founded by Italian Catholic priest, Fr. John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco. Fr.
Bosco started his work in Turin, Italy in the mid-1800s, gathering poor boys and young men who lacked a home and education. He established an oratory, a place where these young people could come together and call their home. This marked the beginning of a movement centered around John's educational approach based on reason, religion, and loving kindness.
The Salesians offer a range of products and services to support their mission. These include Salesian schools, parishes, youth centers, and other works that provide a welcoming environment for young people. They provide education, spirituality, and dynamic activities to help young individuals reach their full potential and find happiness in this life and the next.
The Salesians' spirituality is characterized by simplicity and kindness. They focus on doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way and finding holiness in daily tasks. Their tools include the daily Eucharist, devotion to Mary, and a cheerful way of living that turns daily work into a prayer.
Don Bosco's work and teachings were deeply influenced by the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales, who is the patron saint of the Salesians. Their mission is to continue Don Bosco's legacy and make a positive impact on the lives of young people
