About Salondulivreafricaindeparis
The Salon du Livre Africain de Paris (SLAP) is an esteemed literary event celebrating African literature and culture. Scheduled for its fourth edition from March 14-16, 2025, at the 6th arrondissement's city hall, SLAP aims to connect authors, publishers, and readers, fostering a vibrant community in the literary world. This event showcases a diverse range of products and services, including author signings, engaging workshops, and a rich program featuring numerous acclaimed speakers from across Africa.
In collaboration with the Salon International du Livre d’Abidjan, SLAP promotes professional development in the African book industry, offering workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and networking among literary professionals. Additionally, the initiative actively encourages youth engagement with literature through outreach programs in schools and libraries nationwide. Supported by partners such as the Institut Français and the city of Paris, SLAP strives to make literature accessible and to promote reading culture across continents, ensuring that African voices are celebrated and heard.
