Salon Viesti ry.

Salon Viesti ry is a long-established multi-sport club based in Salo, Finland, founded in 1912. With approximately 400 members, it welcomes participants of different ages and abilities, from beginners and recreational athletes to competitive sportspeople. Volleyball is the club’s largest activity, with girls’ and boys’ junior teams across age groups, adult competitive and recreational groups, and a team for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Its junior players also participate in regional and national youth teams. The club’s other sports include orienteering, which offers both recreational and competitive activities, and pétanque, added in 2023. Groups such as Lentisleidit and Ukkomiehet also contribute to the club’s volleyball community and activities.

Salon Viesti helps organize two annual local events, Salon Seiska and Salo-Volley, and works with other regional orienteering clubs to hold Maanantairastit. Members and newcomers can take part in sports, join a club section, or volunteer at events. Through its varied programmes and community involvement, Salon Viesti offers opportunities to stay active and participate in local sporting life
