Salpausselät ry is a local back health association serving the Lahti area and supporting people in caring for their backs and overall wellbeing. As part of Finland’s national Back Association, Selkäliitto ry, it connects members with information, peer support and opportunities to stay active. The association organises back-focused exercise, including back gymnastics, water exercise and a men’s exercise group, as well as an independent gym group.
Its programme also includes trips, outings, lectures, visits and other opportunities for members to meet and share experiences. A local support person is available to contact, and the national association provides free telephone back advice at set times. Membership costs 23 euros per year and includes four issues of the Hyvä Selkä magazine, talks and information sessions, expert support, trips and discounted tickets.
Members may also apply to take part in subsidised rehabilitation holidays. Salpausselät welcomes new members and invites people to contribute ideas and take part in its activities. The association meets at Rautatienkatu 19 A in Lahti
