SALTA is a national knowledge and networking organisation focused on salinity and freshwater supply in the Dutch coastal region. Its network brings together 40 public- and private-sector partners from across the Netherlands to develop practical responses to the challenges of increasingly saline water. SALTA helps make existing knowledge accessible, develops new collaborative projects, shares experience from real-world practice, and highlights innovations for working with saline and brackish water.

Through its projects and activities, SALTA connects research, policy and practical implementation. Featured initiatives include Zicht op Zilt, research into saline clay soils, and Zoete Toekomst Texel. The organisation also shares updates and learning through news, webinars, events and field gatherings, helping partners exchange insights and explore solutions together. Its programme is supported by an organisational team, a supervisory board and a scientific committee. By fostering cooperation and showcasing ongoing work, SALTA contributes to a broader understanding of salinity and freshwater provision and supports the development of workable approaches for communities and organisations in the Netherlands.
