Salters' Mercantile and Auctions

Salters’ Mercantile and Auctions LLC provides estate sale, auction, appraisal, clean-out, and resale services across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Peninsula. Based in Newberry, the company offers free consultations for homeowners, families, estate executors, farmers, and business owners considering a sale or liquidation. Its estate sales and auctions feature personal property and a changing selection of items, while auctions accept cash, local checks, and debit or credit cards, with a 4% service charge on card transactions.

The company prepares personal property appraisals for situations such as probate, death, divorce, or estate inventory planning. Reports describe items, assess their condition, and provide fair market values. Salters’ also handles estate and hoarding clean-outs, including tasks such as removing belongings, taking items to the transfer station, and mowing a property before it is marketed.

Its resale activities include seasonal pop-up sales with antiques, vintage and modern goods, household items, collectibles, furniture, tools, and estate jewelry. A Mercantile resale location is under construction, with shopping expected to begin in summer 2026.
