SAM 8 Model Airplane Club is an AMA-chartered model aviation club, charter number 1284, for people interested in free-flight model airplanes. Its members focus on Antique, Old Timer, Nostalgia, and Flying Aces Club models, combining flying with opportunities to learn, share interests, and enjoy fellowship.
The club meets for lunch on the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Rainbow Café in Auburn. Flying activities include participation in Central Oregon contests four times a year, indoor events during the rainy months, and informal fun-flys in dry weather. These outdoor sessions feature small, quiet airplanes at Meadowbrook Park near North Bend.
