Samana Living

Samana Living is an Australian retailer offering fair trade rattles and soft toys for babies and young children. Its products are handmade by artisan makers and shipped from Brisbane to homes and stores across Australia and New Zealand. The range includes baby rattles, larger soft toys, organic cotton designs, wooden teethers and under-the-sea characters, alongside new arrivals and sale items.

Samana Living works with makers and social enterprises in South Asia. Its Lullaby Stitch rattles and toys are crocheted from organic cotton by fairly paid women artisans in rural Bangladesh, with flexible work close to home. The pieces are safety tested and individually handmade, so each has its own character. Blue Mango soft toys are sewn in Tamil Nadu by a social enterprise that supports women facing social and economic barriers; profits go back into the program, which includes a creche. Samana Living also offers wholesale accounts for independent gift, eco and baby stores, with online wholesale pricing and tax invoices.
