Wattle and Weft is the independent practice of Australian artisan Samantha Gehrmann, who creates handspun yarns and handwoven textiles from her rural home. Inspired by the Australian countryside and the rhythms of everyday life, Samantha makes each piece slowly and by hand, celebrating mindful craftsmanship, natural materials and the stories they carry. Her small-batch yarns use fine Australian-grown and processed merino, alongside cashmere, alpaca and other luxury fibres.
The collection also includes handwoven garments and home textiles made from traceable organic cotton, silk, alpaca and wool, woven on a traditional floor loom. Wattle and Weft offers customers thoughtfully made pieces intended to be treasured, as well as journal stories and photographs documenting creative projects and the making process. Beyond weaving and spinning, Samantha works as a photographer, with selected imagery available through her curated Stocksy portfolio for personal or business use.
