About Samaritans
The Samaritans Hong Kong 撒瑪利亞會 is a non-profit, non-religious organization that provides emotional support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or suicidal thoughts. We serve all members of the Hong Kong community, regardless of age, religious beliefs, race, gender, or sexual orientation, and strive to offer assistance to those in need. Our 24-hour multilingual hotline is staffed by trained volunteers who provide a listening ear and emotional support.
Since our establishment in Hong Kong in 1974, we have received over 563,200 calls from individuals ranging from 8 to 80 years old. Those who reach out to us for help are often facing difficulties, crises, or feelings of hopelessness. They may be experiencing low moods, grief from the loss of a loved one, feelings of loneliness or isolation, thoughts of suicide, or concerns about someone they care about.
