About SambaSports Youth Agenda
SambaSports Youth Agenda is a social platform that was established in February 2018 by youth and friends of youth from Kwale County, Kenya. Its mission is to inspire and influence behavioral transformation in young boys and girls through targeted and integrated sports and skit activities. The need for SambaSports Youth Agenda arose from the concerning rise in teenagers and youth degenerating into drug addiction, juvenile crime, forced labor, human trafficking, and the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Kwale County faces significant social issues, including drug abuse, child trafficking, radicalization, and HIV/AIDS prevalence. To combat these problems, SambaSports Youth Agenda offers a multifaceted approach. Through targeted sports and skit activities, they strive to make the lives of young people attractive and provide them with positive experiences.
Additionally, they offer parental engagement programs to educate parents on preventing wayward habits, community service and exposure visits to colleges and industries to encourage career aspirations, and safe incubation spaces for youth to learn life skills and have access to influential reading materials. SambaSports Youth Agenda aims to protect and guide adolescents and youths, mitigating their vulnerabilities to drug abuse, juvenile crime, and violent extremism
