Sametinget är både en statlig myndighet med förvaltningsuppgifter och ett folkvalt samiskt parlament, med det övergripande uppdraget att verka för en levande samisk kultur. Vi är en expertmyndighet för samiska frågor med brett ansvarsområde och många olika sakfrågor. Våra kompetensområden spänner över stora områden såsom samhällsplanering, rennäring, samiskt näringsliv, landsbygdsutveckling, samiska kulturyttringar, kulturarvsfrågor, samiska språk, gränslöst nordiskt samarbete, mänskliga rättigheter, minoritetsfrågor och urfolksfrågor. About Sametinget Sverige
Sametinget i Sverige is a brand that functions both as a state agency and a elected Sami parliament, aiming to promote the vibrant Sami culture in Sweden. As a state agency, they hold specific responsibilities in the areas of language, culture, and reindeer herding. The elected parliament consists of 31 members who convene for plenum sessions three times a year, with the board being ultimately responsible for the activities of Sametinget.
Sametinget offers a range of products and services to support and empower the Sami community.
