SODa is a data competency centre for university collections, supporting research and professional work with collection and object data. It provides learning resources, expert guidance, events and tools focused on making collections more accessible and strengthening digital practices. Its Knowledge Base brings together information, open educational resources and materials reflecting the centre’s subject expertise, while the Helpdesk answers questions about research and work with collection and object data.
SODa offers self-paced courses for learners at different levels, including introductions to digital provenance research and foundational training in digital collection cataloguing. Its training also covers working with collection-related data and digitising objects. For provenance research, SODa develops ProNto, a navigator featuring tools, services and resources, with filters and content in German and English.
