The Samson Solar Energy Center, developed by Invenergy, is on track to become the largest solar energy generation facility in the United States, situated in Northeast Texas. With an impressive capacity of 1,310 megawatts, this facility aims to power approximately 300,000 homes, significantly contributing to local and national energy goals. Construction commenced in July 2020, and through five project phases, it will not only provide clean and sustainable energy but also generate up to 600 jobs during the construction phase, alongside 12 permanent positions once operational.
This massive project represents a nearly $2 billion capital investment, injecting around $450 million into the local economy via tax revenues and lease payments to landowners. Beyond economic benefits, the Samson Solar Energy Center is set to offset emissions equivalent to removing 325,000 vehicles from the roads, underscoring Invenergyโs commitment to sustainability. By collaborating with various corporate partners and municipalities, the Samson project exemplifies innovative energy solutions for today and the future, paving the way for a greener society.
