Samsø Sportsfiskerforening is a fishing association on the Danish island of Samsø, bringing together men, women, children and young people through a shared interest in fishing. The organization welcomes beginners and experienced anglers alike to join its activities and events, fostering a community across generations.
Its flagship event is Samsø Cup, an annual fishing weekend held in May. For a decade, the event has attracted participants from Denmark and abroad for fishing, fellowship and experiences on the island. In 2026, its tenth-anniversary year, 60 anglers took part.
The association also offers access to Grusgraven, a peaceful waterside fishing spot open to members and their guests on six weekends each year. An annual competition rewards the largest trout caught, with the winner sometimes decided on the final fishing day in October.
Samsø Sportsfiskerforening organizes fishing workshops for children and young people living on Samsø. After holding two workshops in 2025, the association plans to continue them in 2026, encouraging young anglers to learn and connect with peers.
