Sam Stitt Foundation

The Sam Stitt Foundation is a community-focused organization established in memory of Sam Stitt, who was killed in 2019. Founded by his parents, the foundation seeks to honor his life by addressing challenges affecting young people and their communities. Its mission focuses on economic opportunity, education, financial literacy, and youth development, while also working to help end gun violence and keep children, families, and communities safe.

The foundation offers scholarship support for students at Johnson C. Smith University who are pursuing degrees in social work. Alongside financial aid, eligible students can receive coaching to support their progress in higher education. The organization also hosts events centered on positive youth development and invites community members to volunteer and take part in its work. Donations and partnerships help support its programs and broader mission. Through these efforts, The Sam Stitt Foundation aims to use its political, social, and economic resources to create positive change and help young people thrive.
