Sam Stokes Nursery is a family-owned garden nursery in Forest Hill, Louisiana, with roots dating back to 1902. The business began as a wholesale nursery in 1977 and opened its retail sales yard in 2006. Today, it welcomes visitors from across Louisiana and is run by the founders’ daughter and son-in-law.
The nursery offers a broad selection of plants and gardening products, including fruit, citrus and nut trees; vegetable and flower seeds; seasonal vegetable seedlings; shade trees; shrubs and ornamentals; and garden supplies. Its collections also include pecans, fall vegetables and plants selected for fall color. Sam Stokes Nursery emphasizes plant quality, helpful customer service and practical gardening education.
Customers can seek guidance on starting a garden, choosing plants and fertilizing, whether they are growing in containers or planting on a larger scale. The business operates seasonally, generally serving customers during spring and fall, with visits available by arrangement for certain products outside those seasons. Its welcoming, knowledgeable team supports gardeners at every stage
