The San Diego Division of the Pacific Southwest Region (PSR) of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) is a vibrant community of model railroad enthusiasts, promoting the passion for scale modeling since December 1955. With over 18,000 members globally, this group offers invaluable opportunities for learning and sharing within the hobby. They host monthly meetings on the second Saturday of each month, focusing on a variety of activities, including “Show and Tell” sessions, clinics on modeling techniques, swap meets, and auctions.
Members enjoy not only modeling different railroad scales with diverse power sources but also engaging in rail fanning—photographing and exploring real trains. The division emphasizes education, advocating for NMRA standards and supporting new members through the Achievement Program, which recognizes skill development and achievements. Annual events, such as layout tours, summer BBQs, and holiday celebrations, foster camaraderie among enthusiasts. Join the San Diego Division to delve into the exciting world of model railroading and forge lasting friendships.
