Sand Meadow

Sand Meadow Farm LLC is a boutique horse farm owned by Andrea and Steven Barber in Mendon, south of Rochester in New York’s Finger Lakes region. The farm specializes in importing, breeding, and training Icelandic horses, with a focus on quality and the breed’s distinctive character. Its breeding program includes stallions, mares, geldings, and young horses, and the farm presents selected horses for sale, including those bred at Sand Meadow and others chosen for their character and talents. It also offers consignment sales for select horses.

With more than 25 years of involvement in the breed, Sand Meadow Farm’s owners are active in the United States Icelandic Horse Congress and their local Icelandic horse club. Andrea Barber is a past US breeding leader and President Emeritus of the Congress. The farm provides riding lessons for people interested in learning about and riding Icelandic horses, and welcomes newcomers seeking an introduction to the breed.
