Sandnes Karateklubb

Sandnes Karateklubb is a Kyokushinkai karate club based in Sandnes, Norway. It welcomes children, teenagers and adults, with training groups for KarateKidz aged 5–7, juniors aged 8–13, youth aged 14–16, and seniors from age 17. The club offers trial sessions and membership, and its training combines physical conditioning with karate skills and practice. Sessions include strength, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility work, alongside kihon (basic training), kata, sparring and self-defence.

Kyokushin karate emphasizes full-contact sparring and practical techniques. Through structured training, members can work on physical fitness, mental discipline, confidence and personal goals, while sharing a supportive club environment. Sandnes Karateklubb also has active members who compete nationally and internationally. It organizes three to four training camps each year, inviting experienced international instructors, mainly from IFK in England, and collaborates with other local clubs. The club’s curriculum was developed by Hanshi Steve Arneil, founder of IFK. Training takes place at Welhavens vei 15 in Sandnes, and the club provides information about its calendar, history, training and membership through its website.
