About Sandskater
Sandskater is a UK-focused website dedicated to skimboarding and the people, skills and history behind the sport. Founded in 2000, it describes itself as the UK’s leading skimboarding website and has built an archive spanning more than 25 years. Its content includes practical guidance for riders at different stages, from explaining what skimboarding is and choosing a first board to learning how to get on a skimboard, apply deck grip and care for equipment.
Articles also explore skimboard construction and the materials and methods used in modern boards. For visitors interested in the sport’s culture and events, Sandskater publishes skimboarding photos and videos, contest results and reports, along with news and stories from the UK scene and beyond. The site features footage from events and riders, as well as coverage of gatherings such as the UK International Skimboarding Contest.
Sandskater serves as an informational resource and historical record for skimboarders, offering tutorials, media and archived coverage rather than presenting itself as a board retailer
