Sand Tray

Collaborative Sand Tray is a browser-based 3D space designed to support therapist-guided sand therapy sessions. It gives participants a shared virtual sand tray where they can shape the sand, add and arrange objects, and create scenes together. Users can start a private session or join one with a code, without creating an account or installing software. Sessions are temporary, and voice communication is peer-to-peer; the app states that it does not record voice.

The workspace includes tools for raising, lowering, smoothing, leveling, and erasing sand, alongside a searchable catalogue of objects. Participants can move around the scene, adjust their view, and make shared edits, while each person’s camera remains personal. A chat function and sound controls are also available. Users can save trays to an account, reopen them on another device, or download and load scene files in JSON format. They can capture named snapshots, export a PNG image, and create STL files for 3D printing. The service is available in English and Russian.
