About Sandy Hook Bay Anglers
Sandy Hook Bay Anglers is a New Jersey-registered 501(c)(3) sporting association dedicated to enjoying and promoting recreational fishing. Based at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor, the club traces its beginnings to the late 1970s, when it formed as a group of fishing friends known as the Hobos. Today, it brings local anglers together to fish, exchange tips and techniques, and encourage a wider appreciation of the sport.
The club has participated in joint fishing trips and events with other organizations, helping members share experiences beyond their own group. Its annual Fluke Tournament supports the club’s social and environmental efforts. Over the years, Sandy Hook Bay Anglers has also supported environmental improvements and fishing regulations intended to benefit recreational anglers, while introducing younger people and others to the opportunities fishing can offer.
