Canadian Blood Services

Canadian Blood Services is a Canadian organization that helps connect donors, patients, hospitals and communities through services supporting the country’s blood and donation systems. It manages the national supply of blood products for provinces and territories outside Quebec, and invites eligible people to donate blood and plasma at donor centres across the country. Donors can find eligibility information, book appointments, learn about donation safety and access resources on how their contributions help.

The organization also supports stem cell donation and registration, including an adult stem cell registry and public cord blood bank, and provides information about living and deceased organ and tissue donation. Its services include hospital resources, professional education and research. Beyond donating, people can contribute through financial gifts, volunteering, advocacy and community initiatives such as Partners for Life. Canadian Blood Services shares supply updates, news and educational resources to raise awareness and encourage participation. Through these programs, it works to support patients and help sustain vital donation and healthcare services across Canada.
