Sankikan

Sankikan is a martial arts school in Buxtehude serving children, young people and adults, and describes itself as a place for families. Its name means “house of three forces,” reflecting the ideas of body, mind and spirit. The school offers training for children aged four to nine, as well as classes for participants aged ten and older. Lessons are available in group or individual formats, giving students a choice of how they learn.

Sankikan training combines martial arts and combat sport with self-defence and stick fighting. The school also offers kickboxing, which brings together combat-sport practice and fitness, and lists Weapon Combat among its programs for students aged ten and above. Training aims to build confidence, self-esteem, fitness and well-being. Anti-bullying instruction is included in Sankikan classes and is also available through individual lessons and seminars. The school says it has been operating in Buxtehude for more than 16 years.
