Mission San Luis Rey, founded on June 13, 1798, is celebrating its 225th anniversary this year! As a ministry of the Franciscan Friars Province of Saint Barbara, Mission San Luis Rey offers a range of products and services to engage with the community and celebrate its rich history. Throughout the year, the mission will host a series of exciting events and activities, both new and old favorites. From special multi-cultural Masses to lectures, concerts, and celebrations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

As part of their anniversary, the mission invites the Oceanside community to participate in caring for our common home by sharing 225 ways to conserve resources and help those less fortunate.
