Il San Martino di Monticelli is a traditional community festival in Monticelli d’Ongina, organized by CUI dal San Marten – ODV. The event recreates everyday life in the early 20th century, bringing local history and customs to life through a parade of carts and demonstrations of traditional occupations. Its program also features historic stables, traditional food, puppetry, old-fashioned games, a tug-of-war-style challenge between farmsteads, and the Palo della Cuccagna pole-climbing contest.
Visitors can explore the Museo del Po and aquarium, as well as the Cappella del Bembo, and learn about the history of San Martino and related sayings and traditions. The festival welcomes guests who wish to dress in period clothing and offers men’s, women’s, and children’s outfits to borrow; borrowed garments must be washed before return to the local shop. The 2026 edition is scheduled for November 6–8.
